A Kilkenny dance school is celebrating after being selected to represent Ireland at the 2025 Dance World Cup.
CMD Dance School in Callan will send a team of 27 competitors to Spain in July where they will compete alongside 65 other countries.
Ciara McDonald is a teacher at the school and explains some of the the styles of dance they’re bringing to the competition.
“The Dance World Cup is kind of described as the Olympics of the dance world and there’s all kinds of styles represented over there. We are doing styles with entries in Acro Dance, which is like gymnastics and dance mixed together.”
“We have two hip hop teams and also an Acro Lyrical mixed team as well, which is like a modern dance with a little bit of Acro Dance as well. We’re delighted to be part of Team Ireland.”
