Kilkenny families preparing to once again welcome Chernobyl children this Christmas

Christmas is once again going to be made a lot more special for a number of Kilkenny families this year.

They’re preparing to open their homes to children from the Chernobyl-affected regions of Belarus for two weeks of Christmas rest and recuperation.

They’re arriving into Dublin Airport next Tuesday where Santa Claus himself will be on hand to greet them.

Kilkenny woman, Carmel Everard says she’s looking forward to welcoming 13-year-old Ivan back for his 7th successive visit.

She told KCLR News the two-week break is hugely beneficial for these children.
