Kilkennys Chielf Fire Officer is marking the end of more than three decades in the fire service.
John Collinsis finishing up today after 30 years with Kilkenny Fire and Rescue service having previously spent 6 years serving in Limerick.

He has held the role of Fire Chief in Kilkenny for the past 12 years.
Today is his official final working day with his official retirement taking effect on Monday.

Mayor John Coonan told KCLR News that the Fire Chiefs experience will be missed.
