Nearly 50 local tourism businesses and public buildings are opening their doors free of charge today.
This is the second year of Kilkenny Free Day and organisers say today’s programme promises something for everyone.
Amongst the places participating are Kilkenny Castle, St Canice’s Cathedral and Smithwick’s Brewery as well as Dunmore Cave, Jerpoint Glass and fire stations around the county.
Speaking to KCLR, Grace Fegan of Rothe House says it’s an opportunity for people to get to know their own county.
