Kilkenny Gardai is urging you to lock your cars and keep valuable items out of plain view in them.
The warning comes as they have been inundated with calls of cars being broken into right across the county and in a number of cases the cars have been left open with handbags and clothes visible.
Most of the thefts are happening at churches and outside houses during the night.
Gardai are appealing to people to lock their cars and to hide items out of site or in the boot.
