The location of a hurling monument for Kilkenny City has come under strong criticism from a local Councillor.
David Fitzgerald was the only council member to vote against erecting the monument on the Canal Square in the City.
The statue depicting three hurlers in black and amber, reaching for a sliotar is due to be put in place next month.
