The planning department at Kilkenny county council will now examine the issues arising out of an application in Carlow for a wind farm in Old Leighlin.
Concerned locals brought the matter to the councils attention after discovering in the Environmental Impact Statement that there may be an affect on the water supply in Gowran,Goresbridge & Paulstown.
They expressed surprise that the councils had not been in contact with each other about it.
But Cathaoirleach of Kilkenny county council Pat Dunphy says Carlow did refer the matter to them and its now being examined.
