Kilkenny man Jim Kavanagh named Charity Hero of 2014

Local man Jim Kavanagh has been named Charity Hero of 2014 at a ceremony in Dublin Castle last night.

The Charity Hero Award is a lifetime achievement award for his dedication to Adi Roches Chernobyl Children International.

The Kilkenny man and retired father-of-eight was recognised for his outstanding work for more than 20 years in helping children and adults in Belarus who have been affected by the 1986 Chernobyl disaster.
