Kilkenny man wants to bring brewing back to the Marble city

Plans are well underway to bring a brewery back to Kilkenny City.

Kilkenny-man, Gerald Costello currently brews from a facility in Kildare with his business, Costello’s Brewing Company but is now intent on relocating to the Marble City.

Kilkenny has a long tradition of brewing and Gerald told KCLR News that the closure of Smithwick’s in 2013 has been the catalyst for this move.

It’s hoped the facility, the location of which hasn’t been finalised, will be open in early 2016.

And speaking to KCLR, Gerald says the wheels are already in motion for this to happen.
