The Kilkenny minors prevailed in the curtain raiser in Croke park,edging Waterford after extra time by 1-23 to 1-14.

 

The sides ended level after 60 minutes but a goal in the extra period John Walsh secured a place in the September 7th decider/

 

Manager Pat Hoban was delighted with his side responded to an early Waterford goal in the second half
