Kilkenny road out of Carlow still closed as emergency services deal with overturned fire truck

Emergency services are still dealing with an overturned fire truck on the Kilkenny road in Carlow this lunchtime.

A stretch of road has been closed for a time.

The vehicle was on the way to attend a car on fire on the M9 motorway close to the Leighlinbridge exit when the accident happened.

Its understood there are no serious injuries.

Gardai and the council have told KCLR news that the Kilkenny road is completely closed from the Dolmen hotel as far as Milford Cross in both directions and is expected to remain closed for another hour or so.
