Kilkenny Senator wants debate on advertising standards after club advertises Neknomination challenge to customers
A Kilkenny Senator has called for a debate in the upper house on advertising standards in Ireland.
Pat O’ Neill made the call in the Seanad this week in light of an advertisement for a club in Dublin challenging customers to take part in a Neknomination challenge this Friday night offering free entry, free pints and a chance to win membership of the club.
Senator O Neill highlighted the issue in light of the death of Jonny Byrne from Leighlinbridge and another young man in Dublin who also reportedly lost his life following a Neknomination challenge last week.
He told KCLR news young and vulnerable people are being affected by this.
