There’s just one week left to vote for Kilkenny to become the Foodie Destination for 2016.
This is the third year in a row Kilkenny has been shortlisted for the prestigious title.
The Burren in Clare won last year and this year 9 other destinations are in the running.
Róisín McQuillan of the School of Food in Thomastown says the competition is all about encouraging local food tourism initiatives and celebrating the country’s food offerings.
Speaking to Ken McGuire on KCLR Drive earlier this week Róisín says that judging will be taking place alongside the public vote. Listen to the full interview below.
Judges will arrive in the city next Tuesday.
