“If it wasn’t for the staff in St Luke’s I wouldn’t be alive now” – the words of a local woman who suffered a stroke just weeks ago.
On the 23rd of May Joan says she became aware of tingling down her arm and leg and she managed to drive herself to her daughter’s house nearby.
Her daughter decided to drive her the 26 miles from Mullinavat to St Luke’s Hospital rather than wait for an ambulance.
And Joan told KCLR today that if it wasn’t for the care she was shown there she wouldn’t be back to almost the whole of her health now.
