Kilkenny will be represented at the Oscars tonight!

A Kilkenny animation studio carries the hopes of the Irish at the Academy Awards tonight.
Cartoon Saloon are in LA for the star-studded ceremony as second time nominees.
The Secret of Kells was nominated in 2010 for an Oscar but lost out to Up.
Tonight Song of the Sea the first feature length film they’ve produced since then is in the running for Best Animated Feature.
Plenty of big names lent their voices to the production including Pat Shortt, Brendan Gleeson, Fionnuala Flanagan and Lisa Hannigan.
7 year old local girl Lucy O Connell also features and told KCLR she loved being part of it.
Song of the Sea hasnt hit the screens here just yet but its bound to be a popular choice for local cinema goers when it does.
In the meantime fingers are crossed locally that Producer Paul Young and Director Tomm Moore will get to grace the stage later in LA.
