Kilkenny woman through to the national finals of the brown bread making competition

A Kilkenny woman has made the finals of the annual national brown bread baking competition.

Euronics has been announced as the new sponsor for the brown bread contest in association with the National Ploughing Association and Irish Countrywomen’s Association with the winner set to get €5000 cash prize with a NEPP Slide and Hide oven (RRP €2,019).

Helen Cunningham of the Seven Houses ICA Guild was named with two other regional winners to compete for the title at the National Ploughing Championships.

It’s a highlight of the major agricultural occasion which returns to Ratheniska in County Laois from the 17th to 19th of September.

KCLR’s The Saturday Show presenter Edward Hayden was among those at the announcement.
