Kilkenny writer John Morton has won a Writers’ Guild of Ireland (WGI) Zebbie Award.
His ‘Denouement’ took the Best Theatre Script title at the event held last night at Light House Cinema in Dublin and hosted by Tara Flynn.
Aim of the annual gathering, now in its 19th year, is to celebrate the best of Irish writing in theatre, drama, short and feature films, radio and audio drama as well as children’s and young people’s television.
Our local city born actor, screenwriter and filmmaker, who’s also one of the founding foursome of Devious Theatre company, was presented with his prize by Mary Kate O’Flanagan, with Barbara Bergin for Dublin Gothic and Lee Coffey for Jigsaw also nominated in the category.
