A rather unusual visitor has washed up in a Waterford inlet.
Yesterday morning a passerby discovered the body of a Killer Whale on the coast between Dunmore East and Tramore in the county.
Speaking to KCLR News, Brendan Glody of Dunmore East’s Deep Sea Charters, says the mammal could be the first of it’s kind to land on Irish shores and it appears to have died of natural causes.
Described as being approximately 16 foot in length with the distinctive black and white markings and rows of teeth, the creature will soon be removed for examination.
