Lack of staff being blamed for delayed opening of new ED at St Luke’s

A lack of staff has delayed the full opening of the new Emergency Department at St Luke’s Hospital.

That’s according to Dr Ronan Fawistt who chairs the GP’s liaison committee meetings with St Luke’s.

He was speaking following the opening of the Acute Medical Assessment Unit and the new Oncology Unit yesterday.

Speaking to KCLR, Dr Fawsitt is predicting the new facilities will be fully opened at the start of May.
