A late night appearance by the rescue helicopter kept some people in Carlow awake last night.
Locals reported a chopper was circling the town shortly before midnight.
It has since been confirmed that the Dublin-based Rescue 116 was undertaking another training exercise in the area.
It follows another confirmed by Coastguard back in April.
