There’s exciting news for the Leighlinbridge community in County Carlow.
After months of fundraising the village is set to receive €500,000 from Leader to help upgrade The Superbowl sporting arena and create a hub for the wider community.
Eddie Nolan, a member of the fundraising committee, described the funding as “a major boost” for the project, adding that it’s “upwards and forwards, great for the community, the kids, and everyone in the area.”
The planned community hub will serve not just the teams at Naomh Bríd GAA and Vale Wanderers but a wide range of local groups.
Recent fundraising events, including a Hollywood style screening and awards ceremony at the Woodford Dolmen Hotel, have raised support for the initiative.
With momentum building, Mr Nolan says the project is “all systems go.”
