Leighlinbridge Parish Priest calls for an end to Neknomination craze
The Parish priest of Leighlinbridge has called for an end to the Neknomination craze.
Fr Tom Lalor made the call at the funeral of 19-year-old Carlow man Jonny Byrne who drowned at the weekend.
He’s appealing to young people to say no, if they are faced with the social media drinking game.
Jonny Byrne is being laid to rest this afternoon after mass in St Lazarians Church in Leighlinbridge.
He lost his life on Saturday night last after jumping into the river Barrow in Milford as part of a Neknomination game, and his body was recovered on Sunday morning.
