It’s been a very active week on the Kilkenny / Tipperary border with the rollout of the Lingaun Valley Solstice Festival.
Tagged as where ‘Light meets the Land’, festivities have been taking place in the rural communities along the river path from its source in the Slievenamon foothills through Grangemockler, Killamery, Knockroe, Tullahought, Ahenny, Kilmacoliver, Faugheen, and Kilkieran before entering the Suir River at Tybroughney just downstream from the Ormond Castle in Carrick-on-Suir.
The latter venue will host the festive fun finale this evening from 6pm to 10:30pm.
At the heart of the valley is the Knockroe Passage Tomb which is also known to draw crowds for the Winter solstice.
