Liverpool have suffered a huge blow in their race to claim the Premier League title.

They lost 2-nil to Chelsea at Anfield this afternoon.

A Steven Gerrard mistake allowed Demba Ba to score for Chelsea on the stroke of half time.

And Willian scored the second for Chelsea in injury time to seal the 3 points.

Chelsea are now just 2 points behind Liverpool, with both sides having two games to play.

City, meanwhile, can move within 3 points of Liverpool, while also having a game in hand and a better goal difference, if they beat Crystal Palace this afternoon.

They are on course to do just that, as they lead 2-nil at Selhurst Park late on, thanks to an Edin Dzeko header and a Yaya Toure strike.

Meanwhile, Sunderland have moved out of the relegation zone.

They thrashed 10-man Cardiff City 4-nil in a relegation six-pointer at the Stadium of Light this afternoon.

Conor Wickham netted a brace, bringing his tally to five goals in his last three games for Sunderland.

Fabio Borinialso scored from the penalty spot after the referee judged that Juan Cala had fouled Wickham in the box.

Cala was then sent off for that foul.

Emanuele Giaccherini was the other goalscorer for Sunderland as they moved up to 17th place in the table with three games remaining as Norwich dropped down to the relegation zone.
