A local auctioneer says he believes the lack of houses for sale or rent in Kilkenny is preventing businesses from investing in the county.
Michael Boyd says if a large company were to consider locating in the city there is a desperate shortage of accomodation for potential employees.
A recent report from ‘The Housing Agency’ said Kilkenny will need more than 150 units a year between now and 2018 with an immediate supply shortfall in the city and its environs.
Michael Boyd told KCLR that the city needs new houses to be built as soon as possible.
