Local doctors call for action after new report into primary care services

A new report which calls for more investment in primary care services is being broadly welcomed.

6,000 people were surveyed for the study and the results indicate that a strong primary care system is vital to the delivery of high quality healthcare.

The research recommends a move away from hospital care but highlights that more needs to be done to develop the primary care sector here in Ireland.

Local GP Dr Tadhg Crowley says it’s something doctors have been saying for years, but he says there needs to be action.
