Local motorists have been urged to remain cautious as heavy rain continues to hit Leinster.
Met Éireann has issued two weather warnings -with a status orange alert in place in Leinster and counties Cavan and Monaghan for the next 24 hours. While, a status yellow rainfall warning remains in place for Tipperary and Waterford.
Heavy rain, ranging from 25 -to- 40 millimetres, has fallen in places with further rainfall -of up to 60 millimetres-expected.
Sergeant Barry Smyth in Kilkenny Garda Station urges drivers to be vigilant on the increasingly wet roads.
