The next Government has to treat family carers in Carlow and Kilkenny fairly.
Family Carers Ireland made the call as they launched their list of priorities for general election candidates.
These include ensuring carers aren’t financially burdened and funding and implementation of Phase 2 of the National Carers’ Strategy.
It’s estimated that 6.2 million hours of unpaid care are provided each week saving the state 4 billion euro.
