Local IFA chairman suggests government introduce a new system for taxing farmers
A local IFA Chairman is calling on the government to introduce a system where farm incomes would be considered over a five year period before tax is paid.
The IFA Chairman in Kilkenny, John Bambrick, says averaging farming incomes over five years before tax is paid would ensure the survival of farming for many who experience fluctuations in their income.
Mr Bambrick says the proposed system works well in New Zeland and Australia.
