A number of local outlets are doing free eye tests this week as part of Age Related Macular Degeneration Awareness week.
Those aged 50 and over are being encouraged to get the test between today and September 30th.
AMD is the main cause of sight loss in Ireland with over 100 thousand people suffering from it and the symptoms are often unrecognised.
In Kilkenny, you can get your eyes tested in Richard Dores, Brian McEneaneys and Mahonys Pharmacy on High Street. Eye-Deal Opticians in Newpark and Marita Kavanagh in Thomastown.
And in Carlow, Jennings Opticians on Dublin Street, Griffins Chemist in Tullow and Kearney Opticians in Bagenalstown.
