After reports last week showed property prices are on the rise locally it seems average rents are also on the up now.
And its a trend right across the country with the average nationwide rents up 9 percent.
In the South East the average increase was 2.4 percent – Carlow falls below that at zero point 9 percent with the average monthly rent now 597 euro.
Kilkenny is above the average for the region at 4.5 percent or an average monthly rent of 636 euro.
