Local soldiers go to battle in Croke Park on Sunday

Local soldiers will go to battle against Tipperary this Sunday, but only on a Gaa pitch.

The Defence Forces have 4 representatives playing in the All Ireland Final in Croke Park, 3 from Kilkenny and 1 from Tipperary.

Colin Fennelly, Paul Murphy and Eoin Larkin are part of the 3rd Infantry Battalion based in James Stephen’s Barracks, Kilkenny while Patrick ‘Bonner’ Maher is based in 1st Infantry Battalion in Renmore Barracks in Galway.
