John McGuinness is calling on the Government to adopt a set of recommendations he has put forward to reform the rates system.
The Fianna Fail Deputy says the current system is outdated and needs to be overhauled.
He has introduced a bill that would see a uniform mechanism to calculate rates across Ireland in place of the 15 different ways that exist now.
Deputy McGuinness told KCLR news that businesses need certainty.
