Local teenager understood to have been injured in serious assault in Waterford

It’s understood a teenager from Carlow has undergone surgery after a serious assault in Waterford.

The 18 year old boy was found by Gardaí on John Street in the city last night at 11.30.

Gardaí say they’re treating the incident as a serious assault and are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

KCLR News understands the teenager is a student from Carlow.

He remains in University Hospital Waterford this morning.
