Locals are being encouraged to get involved in National Volunteering Week which starts today.
It comes after database showed over 100 thousand people registered to be volunteers since 2005.
Volunteer Ireland have around 3 thousand charities, community groups and worthy causes seeking help.
Speaking to KCLR news, Carlow Volunteer Centre Manager Regina Duane says volunteering has changed over the years.
