Locals across Carlow and Kilkenny are being encouraged to get their eyes checked on a regular basis.
The call comes from the National Vision Coalition, who launched its election manifesto for 2016.

Over 4 thousand people in Kilkenny and 2,677 people in Carlow are Blind or Vision impaired.
The NVC are calling on the government to publish and implement a National Vision Strategy for the country.
