Long awaited plans for Callan Friary move forward

Plans are progressing to redevelop the former Friary in Callan, which has been vacant since 2001.

Design consultants have been approved, with the project now awaiting departmental sign-off and funding expected next year.

The building, while structurally sound, will require major investment to transform it into a community hub with cultural and public facilities.

Cllr Joe Lyons says it’s going to beneift a lot of people.
