Longer dole queues in Carlow and Kilkenny last month

The dole queues were longer last month in both Carlow and Kilkenny.

There was an additional 164 people seeking some form of unemployment benefit in Carlow last month while an extra 44 people are now signing on in Kilkenny.

The rise in carlow is third successive month which has seen an increase in unemployment figures.

President of Carlow Chamber of Commerce John Brophy told KCLR news that he hopes that this month’s rise can be explained by third level students signing on.
