Investigations are underway after what’s been described as a “major amount” of meat was found dumped near a local tourist attraction.
Local councillor John Pender says plastic trays of meat were dumped close to the entrance to Ducketts Grove’s avenue in Russelstown and nobody knows where they came from.
Speaking to KCLR, John says he has never seen anything like this in his 32 years in the job.
Meanwhile, Environmental Patrol Officer with Carlow County Council, James Lakes says illegal dumping is something he’s constantly having to deal with.
However, he says this was a particularly messy find as it was gone off and was also found on the hottest day of the year.
It’s been described as a large amount of domestic meat or a small amount of commercial.
