Gardaí have arrested a man in relation to a string of thefts and attempted thefts in Kilkenny on Sunday.
At 10 to 1 a man was returning to his car in Loughboy carpark after mass when another man approached him asking for directions.
As he was helping the man he felt his back pocket, which had his wallet in it, being touched and he immediately got into his car.
A few minutes later a lady parked in the same car park while she went to the bottle bank and her handbag was stolen from her car by a man who was caught on CCTV.
The final incident happened in Rathcusack Bennettsbridge when an elderly lady was approached by a man asking for directions – her home was subsequently broken into and a gold engagement ring stolen.
Speaking to KCLR today, Sergeant Catherine O’Gorman says despite the arrest, they are still looking for people who saw anything to come forward.
