Man hospitalised following ‘serious assault’ in county Kildare

One person’s been hospitalised following what’s been described as a ‘serious assault’ in county Kildare in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Emergency services were called to North Main Street in Naas just before 3am.

A man aged in his thirties was taken to Beaumont Hospital for treatment of serious injuries and the scene has been preserved for a technical examination.

Another man, aged in his twenties, was arrested for public order offences but has since been released.

Investigations are ongoing.
