Protestors claim a man was run over by a Garda van at a demonstration in Carlow today.
Residents and anti-water charge campaigners were blocking water-meter installers at John Sweeney Park.
The Gardai have confirmed they are investigating a complaint about a member of the public injuring his foot under the rear wheel of an official Garda vehicle.
They’re appealing for all witnesses to come forward and tell what they saw.
Protestor and witness Julie Coakley’s told KCLR NEWS the man’s foot was badly injured and he had to be rushed to St Lukes Hospital in KIlkenny for treatment.
Meanwhile, one man was arrested at the protest in John Sweeney Park.
A 29-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Carlow Garda station.
He’s since been charged with public order offences and is due to appear before Carlow District Court on Wednesday.
