A 46 year old man is dead following a stabbing incident in Carlow Town this (Wednesday) lunchtime.
Gardai were called to a house at Fredrick Avenue at approximately 1:30pm where they discovered the man in a serious condition. He was pronounced dead a short time later.
A man in his twenties has been arrested and has been detained at Carlow Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
The area has been preserved for a technical examination and the offices of the State Pathologist have been notified.
