The man who was killed on a road in Carlow on Christmas Day has been named as Lukas Bielinski.
The 29-year-old native of Poland, living in Castledermot, was struck by a vehicle while walking on the Carlow to Castledermot Road at Gorteengrone.
The incident occurred at about 20 past 7 in the evening and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Carlow Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
