Man killed in traffic accident named as Thomas Downey

The 80 year old man who was killed in Thursday’s road traffic accident in County Kilkenny has been named as Thomas Downey.
He was killed when his car collided with another vehicle on the Ballyragget Road, close to the Dinan Bridge.
KCLR news understands Mr Downey was a former employee of Jenkinstown Park.
He’s been described as a friendly man who was always willing to help others.
A second man, aged 59 was injured in the crash and was airlifted to Waterford University Hospital where his condition is described as stable.
