A person was rescued from the River Barrow last night.
The man was walking by the river on Bachelor’s Walk in Bagenalstown at about a quarter to 10 when it’s understood he lost his balance and fell in.
An onlooker rang the emergency services who were then able to pull him from the water.
He was taken to St Luke’s Hospital in Kilkenny and it’s believed he’s in a stable condition.
