McDonald calls for review of reformed home improvement grants scheme in light of recent bad weather

arthurmcdonaldA Carlow Councillor wants a review of the reformed Government scheme that sees grants given for home improvements.

Budget 2014 saw the qualification age change from 60 to 66 and Arthur McDonald says it means many people in dire need of work on their homes will have to wait a few years before it can happen.

He says the recent bad weather means theres even more leaky roofs and windows locally.

The Government has said the changes mean that the people who need it most will get the funding but Councillor McDonald doesn’t agree.
