€1.5 million has been granted to go towards a Technological University for the South East.
Earlier this year IT Carlow and Waterford IT agreed to re-enter talks with each other about the joint venture and a proposal for funding was submitted to the Higher Education Authority.
The €1.5 million investment will go towards developing an action plan and also to establishing a dedicated project team.
Speaking to KCLR News, President of IT Carlow, Patricia Mulcahy says that they’re delighted to get the funding but it’s just the beginning.
