Minister of State and local Green Party TD Malcolm Noonan has hit out at the delay in the completion of the Kilkenny Ring Road.
He says the Department of Transport received no funding application from Kilkenny County Council for the North Ring Road for 2024, while 2023’s allocation of €100,000 to progress a strategic assessment of the scheme was not spent.
Yesterday we revealed how close to €26million was allocated to various local and regional road networks across Carlow and Kilkenny. (See full local breakdown below).
Minister Noonan told KCLR News that while he welcomed the almost 18million for Kilkenny alone, it’s “disappointing” that there’s been no progress in the connection of the N77 Castlecomer Road to link up to the other end of the ring road around the city – hear what he told KCLR News’ Edwina Grace here;
Allocation announced Thursday, 15th February (See update re one of the projects here).
