France’s high-speed train network has been the target of arson attacks, causing major disruption on the day of the Olympics opening ceremony.
The state-owned railway operator SNCF said fires had been set along the lines connecting Paris with cities such as Lille, Bordeaux and Strasbourg.
It said timetables would be severely impacted over the weekend and has urged all travelers to postpone their journeys.
It’s as the number of non Olympic tourists in the French capital appears to have decreased.
